Delaney + Blake- June 24, 2023
If you are a friend of Blake or Delaney then you will know when I say that we LOVE this couple. I have been looking forward to this day for years. That probably sounds odd to you, but I've been a friend of Delaney for years. As most of you know, I also work with teachers within our local school district and Delaney was immediately one that I connected with. During our daily walks where we would walk students down the sidewalk and make sure they made it home in the afternoons, Delaney and I would chat about her dream guy and her dream wedding. Sure enough, Delaney brought Blake around last year around 4th of July and before she left that day, I leaned over and whispered, "He's the one."
A few months later, Delaney and her family booked a family session with me. Jokingly as they got out of the car, I gave Blake a hard time about how this would be the perfect time to pop the question. Little did I know that I had 2 messages sitting in my request folder on Instagram from him letting me know that TODAY was that day. FOOT IN MOUTH. I was blessed to be able to witness the big YES. Months later, we photographed their engagement session in Heber and now here we are.
If you know these two, then you know their love radiates when you are around them. We've been awaiting this day and I'm so excited to share it with you.
Delaney and Blake are loved by many! Friends and family from all over showed up and showed out at The Box Factory in Judson Saturday night. Delaney had two first looks- one with her bridesmaids and another with her brother-in-law. One bridesmaid squalled and her brother in law did too. These guys were full of emotion this day. Sweet Blake was nervous, anxious, and couldn't hold back sweet tears. He wanted their day to be absolutely special for Delaney. Delaney and Blake chose not to have a first look, but I still got to capture Blake as he watched his bride walk down the aisle.
Delaney's dress sparkled everywhere she went. It truly was made for Delaney. I like to describe her as a little bit of Dolly and whole lot of fun! She accessorized her dress with earrings that dangled for days, a bracelet (the gift of the day from Blake), and a detailed hair pin. As Delaney got ready, another present showed it- one from her future mother-in-law. Y'all...let me tell you...she knocked it out of the park. She wrote the sweetest letter to Delaney that Delaney's sister read to her. The gift inside was Blake's grandmother's wedding set as an expression of love that they have for Delaney. Mother-in-law's...take note. She poured her heart out and I can't tell you how much that means to a bride. There wasn't a dry eye in the room and I was truly privileged to be able to witness this special moment.
One of my favorite moments from this day was watching Blake watch Delaney walked down the aisle. There's a photo of all of the bridesmaid just watching his reaction and the groomsmen watching Delaney's. It was precious. This scorching hot day was just perfect for these two- from the food to the dancing.
